Salman Khan’s schedule is expected to get tighter from March. The actor who is currently shooting for Kabir Khan’s spy thriller, Ek Tha Tiger, in Cuba, will set the Dabangg sequel rolling, fly to the US for a post-op medical check-up to ensure the aneurysm in his head hasn’t grown, and bring out another designer line of Being Human T-shirts, with new colour combinations and patterns across sizes.
“We haven’t frozen on a date yet, but I’m quite certain we will introduce the new line next month,” he asserts. “I don’t want to start off with something that is still half-baked. It’s better to have everything frozen and locked first.”
Last February, Salman’s Being Human clothesline was readying to make an online debut with a virtual store. The watches are already being sold on www.beinghumanwatches.com with prices ranging from modest to high. A separate website for T-shirts was underway and expected to flag off in April 2011.
The 46-year-old Bollywood star had set up a clothing website with the help of a bunch of technicians in 2010 to make all Being Human merchandise available online. However, he wasn’t too impressed with what was created, and decided to redesign the site with another group of Internet geeks. On last check, the new line was almost ready and awaiting his approval.
Last December, it was also reported that the two-season host of Bigg Boss was planning to open a Being Human eatery in the city. In January, he was apparently looking for a place close to his residence, Galaxy Apartments, on Bandra’s Bandstand. Buzz is that he was eyeing the spot currently occupied by an ice-cream
When quizzed on the subject, Salman says, “We’re working on the menu. The Being Human eatery will be a cool café for everyone, particularly young people. With so many eateries around, we don’t want to have the typical food and drinks on offer. We want to serve something that will be unique to our place.”
He adds that they are also in talks to turn the café into a franchise: “But this is a complicated process and we have to look into a lot of details first. Once everything is sorted, the Being Human café will open its doors in Mumbai.”
The actor has completed more than 70 per cent of Ek Tha Tiger that will open on Eid, followed by Dabbang 2 during Christmas. Salman will also kick off Sajid Nadiadwala’s action thriller, Kick, some time this year. “It’s been fun,” says the super-busy star. “We’ve shot Ek Tha Tiger in some exotic locales like Turkey, Ireland and now Cuba. We shot some action scenes on the streets of Havana recently. That was cool!”
