Urmila Matondkar (2016): News of Urmila’s wedding, earlier this year, came as a shock to many, but definitely not to close friend and designer Manish Malhotra, who designed the actor’s ensemble. She wore a red and pink lehenga with gold zari work, and a net dupatta. (Instagram )
Shilpa Shetty Kundra (2009): Shilpa got married to businessman Raj Kundra on November 22, 2009. The actor chose a traditional red and gold sari, which was designed by Tarun Tahiliani. According to reports, the outfit was embellished with 8,000 Swarovski crystals. (Hindustan Times)
Kareena Kapoor Khan (2012): At her wedding function, Kareena was seen in a sharara that her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, wore when she got married. However, for the reception that took place in Delhi, the actor opted for a Manish Malhotra ensemble. The pink lehenga, with a long silk kurta, had traces of gold embroidery. The outfit was paired with a chunky choker. (Hindustan Times)
Asin (2016): Even though very few people from the Hindi film industry attended Asin’s wedding to businessman Rahul Sharma, the actor’s marriage was the talk of the town for many days. The couple exchanged vows in a church and also had a Hindu wedding. For the latter, Asin sported a gold and beige Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga, which had a hint of maroon. (Joseph Radhik)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (2007): Aishwarya married Abhishek Bachchan on 20 April, 2007. The actor opted for a golden-yellow sari designed by Neeta Lulla. Her braided hair, which was covered with flowers and gold jewellery, complemented her look.
Geeta Basra (2015): Cricketer Harbhajan Singh’s marriage to the actor madeheadlines for quite some time. The couple had functions in Delhi and Jalandhar. Designer Archana Kochhar created Geeta’s trousseau, which included the deep red lehenga she wore on her wedding day. (Pardeep Pandit/ HT Photo)
Soha Ali Khan (2015): Even though Soha and Kunal Kemmu’s wedding was a fairly low-key affair, she made sure she looked perfect for all the ceremonies. Instead of going in for red, Soha opted for a gold-dusted Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga, which she paired with an orange dupatta for some contrast. (Yogen Shah)
Dia Mirza (2014): Dia’s sartorial choices never fail to impress. As expected, she looked stunning on her wedding day, dressed in a beautiful ghagara, created by Ritu Kumar. Esha Deol (2012): Esha looked every inch the traditional Indian bride in a Neeta Lulla crimson and gold lehenga on her wedding day. She wore the heavily embroidered ensemble with a lot of gold jewellery and a kamarband. (Hindustan Times)
