Debutant designer Kanika Saluja Choudhry kick started her fashion career, not only with some interesting designs but also with glamourors showstopper Chitrangada Singh by her side. The B-Town beauty oozed sex-appeal in a blue gown with heavy gold embellishment on bust area. Kanika showcased her collection on Day Two of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week. Anaikka, the name of her collection, was for strong independent women of today. “My collection is for women of power and status. It’s for the women of today,” said the designer.

Chitrangada was all praises for the talented designer: “Kanika is so talented. That’s why I’m here to support her. It’s so different and path-breaking what she is doing, even her jewellery. She actually sticks to what she believes in. It’s all about women power and every single piece says that.” What is your personal style statement? “I usually go for very structured yet simple lines. I love the style of 60s, 70s and it’s all coming back.”

The actor is not afraid to experiment with her style. “As an actor, you always want to keep experimenting. So I’m experimenting with different kinds of looks. For my next film, I have actually cut my hair short,” told the hottie. Chitrangada has joined the gang of item girls with a sizzling number Kafirana in Shirish Kunder’s Joker, which stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. “It’s very rustic, very Marathi, right into the village. It’s choreographed by Farah and Shirish did the music. The song is fantastic. I can’t talk much about the song at the moment. Like Chikni Chameli, it’ll have a phrase which will become quite famous I think,” said the proud star. So will it beat Katrina Kaif’s number? “People keep asking which will be better. I don’t know, I have done my best,” she concluded.
