Day 4 of WIFW sees glamour at fag-end

fashion and trends Updated: Mar 25, 2007 18:00 IST
Highlight Story

The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week saw mostly black and pleated garments, except Manish Arora's tryst with space that came as a much-needed respite from an almost repetitive Autumn/Winter collection on the fourth day.

The day saw names like Satya Paul, Namrata Joshipura, Vikram Phadnis and Gauri and Nayanika present their collections.

Arora's use of psychedelic colours on over-coats and pants amid laser effects and a space-like ambiance went down well with the audience.

The day scored low on the glam quotient with celebrities becoming more conspicuous by their absence at the fashion week, but perked up only toward the fag end with appearances by Karan Johar and Katrina Kaif.

Arora's geometric collection was ably complemented by the flowing gowns in soothing colours by Depala.

Even as the day began somewhat like yesterday, it became brighter in Varun Behl's show when Katrina walked the ramp in one of the creations and Karan Johar formed part of the audience.

Singer Raageshwari, Neha Dhupia, Amjad Ali Khan and wife Subhalakshmi, actor Mukul Dev, Nafisa Ali and director Madhur Bhandrakar were also part of the audiance - had to stand throughout Rina Dhaaka's show.
