Going through their wedding pictures, people often wish they had a different make up done, had a different hairstyle, had gone for a golden facial and countless other things. Well!

Marriage is a once in a lifetime event, and there’s nothing one can do to change things once its gone. But prospective brides and grooms can always plan their grooming sessions to get the look they would always cherish on their D-day. “Grooming of brides and grooms need to be planned well ahead, so that the new look settles well before the D-day,” says beauty expert, Anuradha.

“The beauty tips for women are endless. But the must haves for grooms are to go for body polishing, massage, manicure and pedicure, under eye treatment for dark circles or puffy eyes,” says, Simmi Ghai of Xpressions.

“Wedding make up is as important for men as for women, so boys should also make sure that they also go for pre-wedding touch up,” says Rohini Wadhwani, Skin Essentials.

Tips for brides:

Before applying foundation, use a gel or a primer. This helps your wedding make up stay for the whole day.

Eye shadows can be bright and even in contrasting colours to match with the bride’s outfit. Best colours would be beige, rust or earthly reds.

Gel liners are recommended as they are easier to apply and are waterproof. They are good for lining the inner rim of eye and can stay for hours, unlike pencils. Don’t put layers and layers of mascara on the lashes.

Experiment with nail art and nail shades and colours like gold, peach and maroon, add a lot of sheen and colour.

High ‘up dos’ and sleek long style will look good on round face.

Styles that have volume and width will look good on oval face. Styling your hair a week before will give the hair time to settle down.

Ensure to have trial makeup session 15 days or a week before the marriage so that the required look and hairstyle can be confirmed and finalised.

For a fresh look, exfoliation sessions are advised. Normal to dry skin can have a mechanical exfoliation.

For oily skin undergo a chemical exfoliation. This should be planned 2-3 weeks ahead.

Tips for grooms:

Keep the make-up minimal. This can be confined to the use of concealers to hide any pigmentation on the skin before applying the foundation. One can go for slight eyebrow threading to shape them up.

Skin care for groom involves a diligent cleansing, toning, exfoliating, nourishing and shaving procedures.

Nourishing skin treatments, rejuvenating treatments and visible radiance skin glow treatments.

Exfoliating treatments like Micro-Dermabrasion Skin Polishing (this treatment removes the dead skin from the face, revealing a healthier skin.)

Your smile is the most noticeable thing in all photographs. Ensure it lives upto the occasion. Regular dental check up and tooth flossing, cleansing and polishing are recommended.

Go for good hair and body spa, followed by waxing, pedicure and manicure at least two weeks before the marriage, and follow it up with a similar visit four days prior to the wedding.
