Shantanu and Nikhil opened Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week with their fall-winter collection under their brand S&N drape. However, the designer duo failed to stand up to the high expectations as their designs turned out to be quite average.

Front row celebs Dia Mirza and Sameera Reddy added the touch of glamour to the opening show. While Dia was clad in a hot black jumpsuit, Sameera sported a bright pink one-shoulder gown.

The couture was inspired by modern women of today. “This time our collection was very simple and was inspired from women we make clothes for like Dia and Sameera. Women want to wear clothes they feel comfortable and special in but not out of the box,” said Nikhil.

Shantanu added: “It’s for glamourous, edgy and sexy women of today.”

Collection featured mini dresses, gowns, jumpsuits, shrugs and saris. The colour palette consisted of red, green, purple, white, black, gray, brown, sliver and golden.

Though the Bollywood beauties didn’t walk the ramp, the designers pulled them on stage at the end of the show.

Dia about the show
The show was fun. I enjoyed it. It was surprising that they dragged us on the ramp in the end. The collection is for confident women. Their clothes have a lot of drapes and are well structured. It’s for a woman who knows her body and mind and it reflects that. What I love is that it has a lot of feminity. I first wore their creation four and a half years back which was a gown.”

Sameera on the collection
“What I love about their collection is that it makes you look really slim and all women want to look slim. The way their clothes are cut, I can guarantee you that.”

Dia couldn’t escape the inevitable question. When asked about her marriage plans, the actor said: “I have been asked this question since I was 18 years old. I have already admitted that I’m in a committed relationship. We have not really decided the date. It can be decided keeping a lot of things in mind and planning needs to be done. So when the time allows us, when the families come together and say this has to happen, then probably we’ll get married.”

Nikhil teased the Reddy girl saying: “Sameera is also planning to get married.” However, she quickly reverted: “This is all rubbish. I had spent Valentine’s Day with Dia.” Dia, in support, too said: “Yes I had this amazing candlelight dinner with Sameera.”

The fashion week is scheduled for February 15-19 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
