Fashion designer, event director and producer Lubna Adams tells us how she spent day one at LFW.fashion and trends Updated: Aug 05, 2012 16:11 IST
Pia Pauro’s was the first show, so there was a lot of excitement. We finished rehearsals, checked to see if the make-up, hair and clothes were in order, and finished briefing the models. Having completed the music edits for the show well in advance, we were all calm. The show went off smoothly. Everyone loved it.
After lunch, we finished rehearsals and made some changes in the choreography of Jatin Varma and Vizyon’s shows. Then we checked the make-up, hair and clothes of the models, briefed the sound guy, the light guy and the models. Soon, it was show time, that went off well.
After the show ended, it was time for Deepika Govind’s music edit. Her show being a couple of days later, it’s nice to finish the editing of the music well in advance.
Live musicians (violinists) had been arranged for Pallavi Jaikishan’s show. The rehearsals saw a lot of madness and the briefing was chaotic. Since we wanted the music to be original, we could not do a music edit. But once we got communication going with the musicians, they played the violins beautifully. But tragedy struck just before the show when our showstopper Archana slipped on the slippery greenery on the stage! She could not walk, and we had to replace her with Candice. She switched clothes with Archana, rehearsed the walk, became the replacement showstopper and saved the day! Thanks to our crisis management, this event went well too.
We returned to the music editing for Deepika Govind’s show, after which it was time for a good night’s sleep!
