Simmi Ghai, Xpressions, says, “A wrong hairstyle can stunt the elegance and look of the finest of outfit.” Here are some face cuts and the hair styles that go with them.
Round face shape: Should go for a hairstyle which does not highlight much volume and plays down the roundness of face. One should opt for hair cuts which don’t fall straight on your face but below the chin. Soft layers below the chin would make your face look slimmer. You can go for straight hair, long hair and avoid blunt cut, curls and bangs.
For heart face shape: Pointed chin is the best feature on the face. One can make their eyes and cheekbones prominent with side-swept bangs, brow-grazing fringe, and hair styles that fall at or below your jaw line. Keep top layers soft and long in case of short hair.
For long or oblong face shape: Curls and waves can work wonders as it gives a little width to the face. The long layers do well with parts falling till the nose, chin and collarbone.
For pear shaped face: One can go for a hair style with volume between the ears and shoulders. Avoid short crops hairstyle and hair tied back in a ponytail.
Square face: Go for sleek styles with layers that start at the jaw line and continue downward. Avoid bobs, blunt cut and side swept bangs as they would make your face look more square and round.
Oval face shape: The oval face is the most versatile and any hair style looks good; short or long, straight or wavy. For enhancing the look you can go for a long razor cut or long or short waves. You can even opt for sophisticated bobs, side-swept bangs, long and beachy waves.
