Fluorescent neon colours that were once frowned upon have taken the runways by storm, this season. With the Spring/Summer collections of most international designers awashed with neon clothes and accessories, trend-setting fashionistas have lapped up the shades with elan.

Some of the Bollywood stars, who have recently got their pop neon style right include actor Jacqueline Fernandez, Kalki Koechlin, Neha Dhupia, Chitrangada Singh and Priyanka Chopra.

Get it right
Flaunting neon or fluorescent hues is a tricky task. Since, the colours are quite vivid and bright, you need to style and incorporate them in your look wisely. Fashion designer Namrata Joshipura says, “Its best to wear neon as an accent colour.

Do not wear it from head to toe.” You can also pair two contrasting neon colours and balance it with a neutral colour. If you’re not the experimental diva, then adorn only neon-coloured accessories such as pop colour footwear, bags or belts.

Keep in mind
* Bold pop shades can make you look larger than your size so make sure that your pop colour outfit fits you well and compliments your figure.
* Select a shade that complements your skin tone and hair colour. Neon yellow and orange does not go well with a pale skin tone. Instead, try neon pink or cobalt blue.
