Tom & JerrtIt may well be the longest cat and mouse game in history. With the iconic cartoon Tom and Jerry turning 70 this year, everyone seems to have designs on the cat and mouse duo.

While Cartoon Network, which airs the show, is celebrating TJ Day on April 1, Delhi’s fashion designers have also made their picks on what, if given a chance, they would want to dress the two cartoon characters in.

“Tom and Jerry are the kings of cartoons, so they should be given a royal look. I’d design a Rajasthani collection for them with a lot of brocade, angarkhas and Rajasthani cap,” says designer Charu Parashar. “They should be given a contemporary look. I would design them in a pair of skinny and funky pair of blue jeans and cool t-shirts. Jeans could be embedded with crystals and a hat to accompany it,” says designer Jattinn Kochhar.

“For Jerry, we would design a jump suit so that he can run away from Tom even faster. The colours would be white and blue or white and yellow,” says designers Hemant and Nandita Raipurani. “I would love to design a collection, which has an Indian feel to it. It would have a colloquial look and feel to it. We can also add in some accessories,” says designer Nida Mahmood.
