Call it the return of the ’90s rebellious punk trend or fashion getting a whole lot easier — wearing a tee minus the pants is the hottest trend to have hit Bollywood.
Actors Alia Bhatt and Jacqueline Fernandez recently paired their T-shirts with heeled Oxford boots. Actor Kangana Ranaut, too, went all glam recently, by styling her sequinned Tom Ford tee with fishnet stockings and a pair of sexy boots. We also spotted American pop stars Miley Cyrus and Rihanna wearing tees with a cheeky message.
“Wearing large tops without pants is a refreshing change from the regular celeb red carpet appearances with perfect make-up and contrived styling. This season is all about effortless style, and this trend is just that,” says designer Rina Dhaka.
Acing this trend means more than just throwing on an oversized top and heading out. “How you style your T-shirt can make or break your look. The fabric highlights your problem areas, so steer clear of tight fits. Also, dress up your T-shirt to make it party ready. Go for statement lips, chunky jewellery and real flowers to get the ’90s vibe going,” suggests designer Anupama Dayal.
