* A young assistant stylist working on a hit Bollywood film complained about one star who was so finicky about his appearance that he wanted to increase the rim of his spectacles for one scene.

* Although styling for films and ads pays more, most stylists agree that editorial shoots - styling for magazines - offers the most satisfaction in terms of creativity and freedom of expression.

* Proof of how important styling for film stars is: Aishwarya Rai's 2003 Cannes wardrobe by fashion designer Neeta Lulla earned her furious fashion flack and the dubious distinction of being Meg Ryan's 'handmaiden'.
