Starting this week, on a monthly basis, a city lounge will pay tribute to Mumbai’s most fashionable. Called F In Focus, the event will host evenings to commemorate the achievements of members of the fashion industry — from designers and models to photographers, choreographers and stylists-artistes — at F Lounge.Diner.Bar, Elphinstone Road.

“The event is focused around the personality (of the artiste). It not only showcases his or her work, but also offers concepts, cuisine and liquor of his or her choice,” says Rajan Madhu, director, F Lounge.Diner.Bar.

Starting with designer Narendra Kumar, the concept — which has been a regular feature at the Delhi branch of the lounge for a while — will be launched on October 4. For three days starting this Thursday, the venue will host evenings which will be themed according to Narendra’s choices. “The event will highlight the launch of my bridal couture line, which has been inspired by ballet,” says Kumar. There will also be a new menu featuring dishes and beverages picked by Kumar. “The range of inspired food reflects my sensibilities. My favourite dish, for instance, is the Wasabi Curry Leaf Prawns. It’s a fusion of Indian and Japanese, much like what inspires our fashion. Drinks like Green Apple and Ginger Martini also reflect a fusion of the exotic with the contemporary,” he adds.

Every month, the lounge will reveal the name of the artiste they will feature as part of F In Focus. “Some of the names that are being considered are designers Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and Ritu Beri, photographers Dabboo Ratnani and Atul Kasbekar along with a few leading models,” says Madhu.
