I am a sports anchor with a news channel. I am very slim and short. Kindly suggest Western clothes for a sporty look.

Try garments with sporty style lines, like T-shirts with raglan line with a contrast piping. Also try striped belts and sports shoes. Multi-coloured stripes are very sporty, so wear tees with such stripes or handbags with such sling handles. T-shirts with shoulder padding will add width to your slim shoulders. Fitted tees with small puffed sleeves look sporty and feminine at the same time. Leaving your hair untied is a good way of making the face look smaller, thereby ensuring your shoulders look wider in relation to your face.

I am 5’2”, weighing 75 kg and getting married in 10 days. What should to wear?

Wear darker colours to hide those extra kilos. Dark colours make a person look slimmer. Try clothing with a princess seam, which again can give the impression of a slimmer body. Always, as a rule, wear vertical stripes as opposed to horizontal ones. Never wear an outfit with very prominent blocks in contrasting colours. This gives the impression of less height and more breadth. It is a myth that loose garments hide flab.

You must always wear well-fitted garments while opting for the right silhouette. Fitted is not tight. It simply means clothes that fall well on the body, shoulders that sit at the right place, a neckline which is not too deep or too high, sleeves not too loose but fitting well on the arm, etc. If the outfit doesn’t fall well, no matter how toned your body is, the outfit will be unflattering.
