Animal prints have caught the imagination of fashionistas this season. Here’s how to get that Killer look right.

Want to flaunt some bold and daring fashion this party season? Well, how about animal prints!

If recent trends are anything to go by, this is the time to ditch the LBD (for a change), and embark on an animalistic sojourn! From leopard, cheetah, snake to crazy zebra stripes.

Bollywood A-listers including Kalki Koechlin, Lara Dutta and Sonam Kapoor have already made heads turn, sporting the trend in their recent outings.

Now, it’s your turn to flaunt the prints, in style. Designer Anjalee Kapoor says, “Animal prints make a style statement instantly. Blended with floral concepts and digital prints, they give a refreshing and stylish look to garments like dresses and kaftans.”

Who dares, wins
While animal prints can make a style statement, they can even be a fashion disaster.

Stylists opine that one needs that attitude to shine through in this tricky trend. Stylist Priya Awasthi suggests, “Those on the heavier side, should go conservative with this trend. Pair an animal print trench coat, long jacket or a smart tunic with tights instead of fitted dresses. You can consider wearing a printed blouse with a knee-length skirt in black or beige. All over prints look good on very fit and slim figures only.”

Less is more
When it comes to animal prints, less is definitely more. If you’re in a mood to slip into an animal print dress, then make sure that everything else is kept simple, that is from non-animal print family.

“Experimenting with animal prints is a tricky thing. For instance, if you’re wearing an animal printed dresses, carry muted and understated accessories and footwear. Again, always avoid using clashing prints with these dresses to avoid confusion. Overdoing or mixing of animal prints is also not advisable unless done tastefully and carefully,” says designer Pam Mehta.

How to rock in animal prints
If you’re scared of wearing animal prints then you can start off by wearing them under your jacket. A nice animal print top under a fitted jacket will make you look super hot and stylish.

These days animal prints are not just restricted to dresses or pants. From sunglasses, stoles to bags, they’re seen everywhere. So, if you don’t want to wear a dress, you can try out animal print accessories in your daily dressing.

One of the easiest and simplest way to bring this trend into your wardrobe is to wear an animal print scarf. Wear it like a head band or a stylish side knot around your neck.

Tight pants, hot pants and low cut tops don’t look good with animal prints on them. It’s best to avoid them.
