Get smart with your beard! Here are some tips to keep your beard look neat and presentable.
Mind the direction: Before trimming, comb your beard in the direction it grows, so the hair is at its maximum length and facing the same direction, making it easier to trim.
Of length and texture: Determine the length of hair you want. For a long beard, freehand is best. If you want an even beard, you could go for an electronic beard trimmer .
Trimming tactics: To avoid a patchy appearance caused by uneven density, trim in the direction of the hair growth. For shorter styles or a rugged stubble, you can trim in either direction depending on the look you want to achieve.
Get the right shape: Under your chin, follow the contours of your face and jawbone line, work toward your ear and upper beard line using an upward motion. If you want to maintain a beard with neck hair, use a slightly shorter length underneath the jaw line, as hair tends to grow thicker there. This will help you achieve an even appearance. Above the jaw line, start near the ear on one side and trim down to the chin. Repeat on the other side.
The right finish: Complete any look by cleaning up around your lips.
