Hate looking like everyone else on a festival? Flaunt your fun side on Karva Chauth tomorrow, while retaining the sanctity of the occasion. The trick to look different is simple: think global, sexy, fresh and colourful, skimp on gold, go light with makeup, and you won’t look like everyone’s clone. Here’s what will sort it out for you:

A figure hugging silhouette: You can get drowned in traditional Indian outfits.
Fitted outfits like a sharara worn with a sexy kurti, a fitted anarkali or a fish cut lehenga with a corset blouse will accentuate your figure.

Break colours: A head-to-toe red maroon and pink attire can be boring. So break colours: colour block (think yellow kurti with pink lehenga), go for pastels with neon borders (pastel pink sari with neon green border), play with tones of blues and pinks.

Contour your cheeks and jaw line, using a foundation that is 2 shades darker than your skin tone. Dust your face with some loose power, using a brush. To shape up your eyes, use creamy colours starting from the inner corner of the eye. Use dark brown or a coppery shade as you move towards the outer corner.

Highlight your cheeks with a pink or peach blush, and use a nude colour for the lips.
