If her roles in TV shows are anything to go by, it’s clear that Jennifer Winget can carry off diverse styles with aplomb. From bodycon dresses, sweatpants and T-shirts to elegant suits and saris, the actor makes it a point to break the monotony with her style statements. The style diva, who is nominated in the Hindustan Times Most Stylish TV Personality - Female category, talks about her fashion quotient and style sense.
What does style mean to you?
We all have our own unique style, but personally for me, my preferences lean more towards the clean, minimalistic and fuss-free. Simplicity and subtlety in character, comfort and confidence make for a great blend. Being stylish is definitely something that goes beyond dressing up.
According to you, which outfit works best on the red carpet?
Depending on what the event and evening has lined up, a great gown can never be ruled out and I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a sari! Again, if you’re wearing your outfit of confidence, you’re already making a style statement, you may not even need to be wearing a known brand.
What is the one accessory you never leave home without?
I’m not really big on accessories! Just shades maybe, to serve the purpose they were made for.
What is the biggest faux pass one can make?
Wearing something that you’re not comfortable in.
What is the most expensive outfit that you bought?
Though I’m still trying to figure out where I will be making use of it, I recently indulged myself in a stunning Chanel dress (which I’m inching closer to flaunting everyday) Time will tell if I will be buying myself many more!
During shopping, what is the one thing that catches your eye first?
Shoes.. Always, I never miss!
What do you end up buying often?
Shoes! Shoes! More shoes!
