After a bollywood-deprived first day at the Delhi fashion week, the second day saw Raima Sen walking the ramp for Small Shop by Jason and Anshu. Dressed in a simple black tee and jeans, we asked the Sen girl, how glamorous is her style statement? “Oh! Not at all glamourous. I am a very jeans and a white T-shirt, kohlapuri chappal person. I always tend to stick to colours like black or white. It’s only when I go to events that I dress up, because I have to.”
Simple but stylish
She shares that Ria is very stylish. She is completely clued into the latest trends and colours. She keeps telling me, but I am, too lazy to listen to her. For somebody who’s not much into style and fashionable clothes, there isn’t scope for a lot of slip-ups.
“On the contrary, I have gone through many. There have been times when I have landed at a posh party wearing a pair of jeans when everyone around me is dressed in nice evening gowns or dresses.” But, that’s hardly a slip up. “Of course, I pretend as if this is my style statement and all but deep inside I am, too red and embarrassed.”
The lady walked the ramp with sister Ria for the Couture Week in Mumbai for designer Ritu Kumar. “My sister has walked the ramp but it was my first time, I was quite nervous but thank God, it all went well.”
Moving on to Bollywood, Raima has just wrapped up the shooting for A Japenese Wife, that also features actor Rahul Bose. Now she is all geared up for her other two projects — Mere Khwabon Main Jo Aaye and another directed by Rituparno Ghosh that also stars her sister. You know, I don’t play sister to Ria in this movie. We are paired against each other.”
She has worked with many actors, but there must be someone she really gels with. “All, but I like working with Rahul Bose. He is very funny and we have a wonderful working relationship. He cracks jokes and makes fun of me. We take potshots at each other.”
