Taking a cue from fashion weeks abroad, the next edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2012, which will be held from February 15-19, will see offsite shows at some hot nightspots in the Capital apart from those at its prime venue, Pragati Maidan.

This is the first time that the concept of offsite shows will be introduced in a pret wear fashion week in India. Two such shows have been planned for the event.

Designer Tarun Tahiliani will host his offsite show on day two of the event. “Our offsite show will be at Blue Frog on February 16. It’s an open-air show and will be held on the terrace,” says Tahiliani.

Designer Rohit Bal, who is showcasing his collections on day one, has also planned an offsite show. However, this would not be a first for Bal, who had earlier conducted his shows at an offsite venue, Aman, during the couture week in 2010. The venue of Bal’s show is being planned right now.

“The fashion fraternity is excited about the concept, and everyone from choreographers to models are upbeat about making it a success,” reveals an insider.
