Fashion designers Neeta Lulla and Pria Kataria Puri will showcase their autumn-winter collection at the Rome Fashion Week starting July 9.
The Indian presentation in Rome is part of an exchange programme for designers between the Lakme Fashion Week and Alta Roma, the promoters of Italian style.
The promoters of the two fashion shows set up the exchange programme during the LFW autumn-winter 2007 show in March. As a part of this exchange program, Indian designers Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Wendell Rodricks too will present their creations on the runways of PAPP (a fashion show in Paris) in September.
Lakme Lever vice president Anil Chopra said the global cross-over with LFW and Alta Roma is an initiative aimed at providing an attractive platform to designers.
As part of this initiative, Italian designer Giovanni Cavagna, who specialises in knitwear, showcased his winter collection last season, a statement said.
Alta Roma will provide Indian designers with services at the venue, models, hair and make-up expertise, casting and fitting assistance, backstage aid and media relations free of cost.
Neeta Lulla has to her credit a host of collections sought after by Bollywood. She has done several shows in different parts of the world, including in the US, Canada, Monte Carlo and Dubai.
Puri has won the Bharat Yuva Ratna award and the Bharat Vikas award for designing women's wear.
