Jaipur to host jewellery show
Thousands of visitors from India and overseas are expected to visit the mega jewellery show to be held in the Pink City of India.
The Rajasthan's capital is all set to host a mega jewellery show from August 17 to 20 which will showcase the gems and jewellery manufactured in the city. The show 'Jas 07' is being organised by the Jewellers Association of Jaipur.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate the three-day event. "Thousands of visitors, both from India and overseas are expected to visit the exhibition that would showcase precious and semi precious stones, gems and jewellery and its machineries at 180 booths," Vivek Kala, president, Jewellers Association of Jaipur said.
"The basic objective behind organising this show is to display the image of 'Brand Jaipur' in the world market, to make the jewellers here aware about the new marketing techniques and to give the city's jewellery industry recognition at the international level," said Nirmal Bardiya, convenor of Jas 07.
The jewellery business in Jaipur is estimated at Rs.150 billion and over 100,000 people are directly or indirectly engaged in the trade.
