It wasn’t the hair-raising stunts in Spidermn that leading man Tobey Maguire found the most difficult to handle, but the kiss he shared with on-screen lady love Kirsten Dunst.
Maguire revealed to Parade magazine that the ‘hardest thing’ he had to do in the movie was kiss Dunst, who played his love interest Mary Jane Watson.
“Probably the hardest thing I had to do as Spider-Man was kiss Kirsten Dunst,” Us Weekly quoted him, as telling Parade magazine.
As for why he thinks so, when most men would gladly change places with him, well, that is because the scene, in which he kisses Dunst while hanging upside down, proved to be the most hazardous as she literally cut off his air supply.
“When we shot that scene where we kissed in the alleyway and I was hanging upside down…it was raining and the whole time I had rainwater running up my nose. Then, when Kirsten rolled back the wet mask, she cut off the air completely,” Maguire added.
However, all the trouble of a near-death experience paid off, for the movie was such a huge hit, that it has seen two sequels made, with a fourth in the pipeline.
Maguire will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spiderman 3, which hits theatres in May this year.
