The colour black, layered and flowing cuts but no glam quotient marked day two of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi on Thursday, with big names like Ashima-Leena, Tarun Tahiliani and Anamika presenting their Autumn/Winter collection.
Unlike Wednesday , when actor Akshaye Khanna, DJ Aqueel and Sarod players Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan glamorised Manav Gangwani's show, the audience on Thursday had to be satisfied as actor Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh's daughter Riddhima and VJ Kamal Sidhu walked the ramp at Surily Goel's show, while Musician Remo and TV anchor Nalini Singh were onlookers at Ashima-Leena's event.
Even Tahiliani's much-sought after event, which is known to have famous people walk the fashion runway for him, was a dampener with no big names spotted either on or off the ramp.
As regards the creations, darker shades like black, deep brown and grey ruled the roost, while layered skirts and flowing gowns were some of the recurring features that were carried forward from day one of the Fashion Week.
However, unlike the previous fashion week, some of the big designers were not able to deliver and left a lot wanting, in terms of style and creativity.
The creations got a mixed response from both the audience and buyers. One buyer from the Middle East, on conditions of anonymity said most of the big designers this time around failed to live up to expectations, while some young talents like Deepika Govind, Anju Modi and Kavita Bhartia managed to impress the audience.
