Delhi-based footwear designer Swati Mehrotra has tied up with American fashion promotors Trusty Alliance for the launch of her shoes in the US, UK and Canada.

Delhi-based footwear designer Swati Mehrotra launched her range of zodiac shoes under the label ‘Swati Modo’ last year in India. Now, the designer is ready for the international market and has tied up with American fashion promotors Trusty Alliance for the launch of her shoes in the US, UK and Canada.



Mehrotra says, “We are looking at opening five exclusive stores in cities such as Los Angeles and New York, where in Trusty Alliance will be promoting SM as a luxury brand.”



Keeping in mind the 12 zodiac signs and their traits, each shoe has been specifically designed using colours, wood, and synthetic fabric to suit different sun signs.

Soft launch of these shoes for both men and women will take place in May this year, while the retail will start from September 10. But before making a foray into foreign market, the shoes will be shown on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week in October this year.

Prathik Patel, CEO, Trusty Alliance says, “Swati Modo has an essence of Indian culture embedded in its zodiac line. This brand will create a niche market for it’s a creative idea.”

Stacey Lalljee, creative director and marketing head for Trusty Alliance, says, “We are also planning to launch the footwear in elite department stores such as Barney’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.”
