The hue and cry and discontentment that WIFW 2008 went sans glamour and did not create a buzz because of no 'Bollywood Factor', does not seem entirely true. It all began with the most unwanted ghost from the past wardrobe malfunction revisiting Rajesh Pratap Singh's show on day three, which was soon followed by a model tripping on the very same day. And now, the great fall today at Charu Parashar's show. The one uniting factor to watch out was the audience reactions of "ohhh", "ahhhh", "it fellll", "ohhh this time she fell".
Designer Charu Parashar's collection had a lot of rich embroidery, stones and crystals, but what drew everyone's attention was model Priya stumbling on the ramp at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in New Delhi on Sunday.
On day five when models were flaunting Charu Parashar's creations, suddenly in the middle of the show, decked in embroidered, red flowing harem pants and a yellow top, model Priya's right foot got stuck in the dress and tripped on the runway.
Parashar's line, titled 'Mysteriously seductive diva will be dressed in vintage style', offered dresses and jackets teamed with trousers with stylish details. Rich embroidery, stones and crystals drew attention to broad empire lines and hemlines. Fabrics like soft velvets, ornate brocades, chanderis, Benarasi georgettes and light nets were used, while clothes made of eco-friendly and biodegradable Birla cellulose fibre were also showcased.
