Monroe’s iconic corset to fetch £200,000

The green and black sequined costume worn by Marilyn Monroe in the 1957 movie Bus Stop, has been given a guide price of £200,000 at an auction. She wore it in some of the more memorable scenes in the film, as well as in the promotional posters.

The green and black sequined costume worn by Marilyn Monroe in the 1957 movie Bus Stop, has been given a guide price of £200,000 at an auction. She wore it in some of the more memorable scenes in the film, as well as in the promotional posters.

MarilynThe auction will take place in Beverly Hills, California on December 3.

“It is one of the most indelible looks from her entire career,” the Daily Mail quoted the spokesman for the auctioneers Profiles In History, as saying.

“It has been a top choice for publicity images of Marilyn from the fifties right up until the present day,” he said.

Also for sale will be the original movie camera used by George Lucas to film Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

The fully restored and working Panavision PSR 35mm camera will come with a photo of Lucas with it on the Star Wars set, and is expected to draw bids up to £130,000.
