One of my favourite cities in the world — New York. A city that is not only rife with mixed culture but also a hub of different kinds of people and lifestyles. In my opinion, NYC is one of the most energetic, pragmatic, eclectic cities I have ever been to!
At any and every level there is style. I love the fact that it is not really in your face and yet abundant with attitude and how! Winter and winter wear I truly personally enjoy, so even if the sun sets at 4 pm, you will still see people going for quiet walks till the wee hours of the night dressed in fun winter wear. I love the fact that there is style in this city, no matter what time of day!
Recently, I went for an exhibition of Balenciaga, a Spanish label. There was a quaint little French restaurant I had lunch at. The next day I sampled some exquisite Thai food.
From American to Italian to French, all the designers worth mentioning are here on 5th Avenue. The city is full of a warm crackling energy. Winter has not deterred the tourists.
If anything, it’s more crowded than ever! I love it. Sacks to Gap and Rockefeller Center on 5th Avenue, to Time Square, the hustle and bustle in this festive holiday mood with this energy always makes me feel alive. I will always cherish and remember my trips to New York.
Now as I come to the end of my visit, its finally time for me to head back home — to equally enjoy the ‘winter’ of Mumbai. I love and thoroughly enjoy the festive time and all the weddings and like always it’s now time to, plan for the New Years celebrations! It’s worth mentioning here that to date, none of my plans have worked out! But everyear, the discussion regarding it never fails to lose its charm.
