The list of television reality shows is set to grow longer with the launch of Let's Design, which will give aspiring designers a platform to showcase their creativity and an opportunity to work with established names of the fashion industry.
The reality-based competition has been organised by US based Cotton Council of India (CCI) in partnership with lifestyle channel Zoom. The show will be aired from Feb 20.
“This show will offer an opportunity to all aspiring designers with a flair for designing to come forward and turn their dreams into reality by creating fashionable cotton garments,” CCI's India representative Sachit Bhatia was quoted as saying in a statement issued here Thursday.
“The winner of the show will get an opportunity to work with an established designer, providing optimum exposure in this field,” he added.
A panel of expert judges, including Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Deepika Govind, and Meera and Muzaffar Ali, will choose one lucky winner.
Contestants above the age of 18 years can apply online at www.allaboutcotton.com and upload their design sketches that will be short listed by the judges.
The short listed participants will stay under one roof and perform various on-the-spot tasks that will test their skills, acumen and passion.
“During the course of the show, the judges would also mentor the participants and help them in sharpening their design skills. They will also share their professional experience with them,” Bhatia said.
“The selected finalists will then present their collection at the grand finale in the capital,” he added.
The last date for the submission of designs is Feb 12 and the grand finale will take place March 7.
