A ramp walk is is no cakewalk. Ask Sonakshi Sinha. The actor took a tumble on the ramp on Sunday while walking for designer Gavin C Miguel during the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour in Bangalore. Rattled by the fall, she went backstage and did not even finish her walk. “

Jo log ghudsavaar karte hai, wahi girte hai, ab ghutno pe chalne waalon ka kya kahein

?” she later tweeted, in good humour. Only last week, actor Sridevi faced a similar predicament when she tripped on the ramp at Mumbai’s Fashion Week.

Members of the fashion fraternity say having celebrity showstoppers has its disadvantages. “If you’re opting for someone from Bollywood, make sure they have a catwalk history. Otherwise, it’s better to let a professional model be your showstopper,” says designer Anjali Kapoor, who feels Sonakshi should have finished her walk.

“The show must go on, irrespective of what happens,” she adds. Others, too, advise caution. “If you want a picture-perfect show, rehearsals with fittings are important,” says designer Falguni Peacock. Actor Sameera Reddy, who has been on the ramp often, says, “The important thing is to check your entire look with the designer before getting onto the ramp. Full dress rehearsals can make or break a show.”
