Just like her character in her debut film, Rockstar, actor Nargis Fakhri is all for pep and quirk. However, the former calender girl prefers to keep it non-messy when it comes to fashion, fitness and makeup. Here’s how:
What’s your favourite ethnic wear?
The sari is the perfect Indian outfit... it’s both traditional as well as sensual.
What’s more effective — dieting or gymming? What do you do to stay in shape?
Food is most important — three litres of water is super important and of course some amount of exercise. As for me, I make sure to eat right, drink plenty of water, and make time to exercise every day. Trust me, it’s that simple.
I love shopping! When you are constantly travelling and are short for time to actually visit stores, online shopping can be really handy, quick and convenient. The best part is that you can shop from the comfort of your own home. As a matter of fact I do it very often. Personally, I love experimenting with clothes, shoes and accessories. Also I like the fact that fashion portals keep changing their merchandise constantly, so that there is something new everyday. Fashionandyou.com (for which she is the ambassador) is one such portal. I love the element of surprise it offers.
What’s your fashion mantra?
Fashion to me is quite like art... it’s an expression of your personality — My personal sense of style is quite versatile, it’s fun, quirky and comfortable.
What should the makeup and jewellery be like when one is wearing ethnic attire during the a) Day b) Night?
During the day, I prefer light makeup or no makeup at all with minimum jewellery. For the night, I think a pop of colour on your lips with one heavy piece of jewellery is a perfect combination.
Get Nargis’ no makeup look
The ‘No makeup’ look is essentially created by using bare minimum but the right makeup. Here’s what you must remember:
Avoid build up of makeup by mixing too many textures. Do not use too much cream or powder or use cream over powder.
Even out your skin tone with a concealer. Stick to a powder-based foundation or a compact. If you must use something liquidy, go for is a tinted moisturiser.
Do not wear shinning bold shades. Go for subtle matte.
If your lips are naturally pink, you could skip the lipstick and just use a lip balm. If you want some colour you could add a tinge of light pink at the middle of your lip and even it out by rubbing your lips. Do not use a lip liner. it’ll rob you off the simple look you want to sport.
If you are fair, add a pink shade on your eye lids, close to the lashes. For tanned skin, beige will look good. As for the eye liner, use a very thin line close to your lashes. Skip the kajal or use a light brown thin line towards the outside.
