Label by Ritu Kumar presented Digital Romance on Day Two of the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week S/S’12. The collection was inspired by the new age modern woman in today’s technological era who experiments with the cutting edge fashion.
Feminine silhouettes and structured drapes formed a major part of the collection. Below-knee dresses certainly stole the show. A lot of flares and trails were seen on the garments. Electric prints (like motherboard electronic print) certainly left an impact.
Designer on the collection: "We presented our global collection. It’s a younger collection. Stitching, embroidery, weaving is very contemporary. We are able to retain our individuality and identity. It’s designed by my son Amrish under our brand Label. It’s hand-tailored, so it takes a lot of time. Hand block printing is very nice used."
Ritu on trends: "In India, every year we make our own trends which suit our climate and traditions. White is definitely in for Spring Summer and around Holi, bright colours will dominate."
The collection was not only totally wearable but also reasonably priced. "Garments are comparatively very affordable," told Ritu.
