Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore walked the ramp on Day 2 of the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week for designer Joy Mitra. The actress, dressed in a brown-maroon saree teamed with gorgeous metallic jewellery, looked her royal self and complimented Joy in his endeavor to walk down the memory lane.
"We have all read Malgudi Days and it is so Indian at heart. Joy's creations are also very traditional but also have a contemporary edge," said Tagore.
Sharmila, who has previously walked the ramp for Ritu Kumar, looked poised and graceful on the ramp. "I love this one by Joy. His clothes are elegant and wearable," added the 64-year-old actress.
Joy Mitra’s collection saw sarees, scarves, anarkali kurtas and long jackets. For once, there was men’s wear incorporated in the collection with elaborate kurtas. Keeping the collection earthy as an ode to Malgudi Days, Joy stuck to black and brown with hints of maroons. Some models also sashayed down the ramp in Gandhi topi which managed to take people down the memory lane.
