We all like to put our hair up, especially when humid-heavy monsoon is cramping our staple style. Well, if you are not into done-to-death updos and ponytails, here are some celebrity-inspired hairdos you can take a cue or two from.

From stealing Sona’s braid-on-braid styles to being knotty with Sonam, choose your favourite.

Actor Sonam Kapoor rocked the three-way twisted bun at a recent event. (Girish Srivastav; Instagram/Sonam Kapoor)

She is the queen of experimentation, so we were not taken aback when we saw this triple bun make an appearance on Sonam’s Instagram and later, at an event. What we love about it ? How the prim front gives way to the futuristic back! If you are a Star Wars fan, these might also remind you of Rey’s signature triple knots. The credit goes to her go-to beauty artist Namrata Soni, who also posted about the look, calling the hair East-inspired twisted knots.
Do your thing:
While the look might not be a DIY-ers dream do, and could be just as complicated as it looks, there’s always a way to give it your own fin twist. With your powersuits or red-carpet ready jumpsuits, go for sectioned buns to add a bit of futuristic vibe. Just make sure you have setting-spray and a beauty vlogger-video ready to help you out.

The twin bun/ space bun is more versatile than you think! Check out actor Gauahar Khan rocking the edgy style with her prim white dress. (instagram/; instagram/ Gauaharkhan)

Just a regular updo to go with your sheath dress? No can’t do! Take a leaf out of Gauahar’s monsoon lookbook and twist it up with space buns to bring in a bit of personality. Now, imagine the same look with hair left loose or a dainty ponytail and you’d realise the impact wouldn’t be as profound.
Do your thing:
Space buns for a red-carpet worthy party? Sure! Space buns for a brunch date with the girls? Why not! Try and pair the double knotted style with different looks and if you don’t enjoy putting your hair all up, there’s the double-knotted hun (half-up bun) style to the rescue.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha has been ushering in a bit of boxer-fun with her hair, and we can’t wait to replicate her swag! (Yogen Shah)

Boxer braids are popping up on our social media timelines like no one’s business and Sonakshi Sinha is one devoted Bollywood proponent of the sporty style. While the sectioned braids are typically pulled-back tight, this desi twist saw Sona carry them off in a more breezy, loosened-up, desi avatar.
Do your thing:
These braids are so versatile that they’d look good not only with a chic bomber and denims pairing, but would look as edgy and sexy with your Bagh-embroidered dupatta or handloom drape. With a bit of practice and hair extensions in case you’re sporting a Lob, you can ace the style without much fuss.

We are in love with singer Rita Ora’s colourful hair-tie fix. Go on and experiment to add some satin-ribbon inspo to your look. (ritaora/instagram)

Now that’s called a party in a hairdo! Singer Rita Ora’s paving the way for satin-seduced ribbons standing up for staid hair ties and we are loving how easy and fun this look is. This one’s a budget fashionista’s dream and giving us major festival-fashion feels.
Do your thing:
Not only satin ribbons, you can even use braided fabric, colourful shoelaces and glitter-dipped strips of lace to create this boho-chic, Coachella-perfect style. And if you think such a whacky-cool tie-up would look good only with a Paharganj-style maxi, Ora’s here to prove you wrong with that leather jacket. Fearless fashion this is!

Is it only us, or does singer Selena Gomez truly look retro-perfect for her airport look in Tokyo? (selenagomez/instagram)

When in Japan, do it like a maven! Selena Gomez gave us major Yoko Ono retro vibes when she posted this picture after arriving in Tokyo for her concert. The fuss-free travel bun is perfect for those rainy days when you are low on time, but big on inspo! The chunky top knot looks smokin’ with that heavy-set fringe, does it not?
Do your thing:
If you think you can’t get knotty like Selena (Just look at that volume!), you always have hair donuts to the rescue. Easily available online, these donuts add instant volume, no matter how long/short your hair is.
