Whoever said that actors can't be models! Amitabh Bachchan put most male models to shame when he appeared in a masculine Varun Bahl for Karan Johar creation, donning his aviator shades on the fashion runway on Day Two of the HDIL India Couture Week.

The audience was in frenzy when the actor walked all the way to the head runway with the confidence and attitude that most long for. Amitabh Bachchan is Amitabh Bachchan... doesn't really matter if you are watching him on the screen or on the fashion runway!

The show opened with actor Hrithik Roshan’s smart walk followed by rest of the models. Creations were as high fashion as they could get with the designer seemingly drawing inspiration from the famous private investigative character in literature, the theme from Sherlock Holmes.

The creations were sharply cut, with crisply tailored menswear. The ensembles were accompanied with bowler hats, very old English.

The show had definite star power with several actors including Shah Rukh Khan accompanied by wife Gauri, Arbaaz Khan, Anil Kapoor with daughter Sonam and many more, making their appearance felt.

Also during the day, one witnessed the jewellery presentations by Queenie, Maheep Kapoor and Raj Mahtani. The designers presented their jewellery line that ranged from heavy ones to lighter pieces, with precious and semi precious stones.

Actors have become an integral part of HDIL, which adds that additional glamour to the event. At such an event, designers have a free hand to do what they choose to do on the runway. The Bollywood stars, take the glamour quotient of this annual event, a few notches up.

This has been one of the most starry Couture Weeks and it’s only been Day Two.
