Highlight Story

There’s now a desi Alan around every corner in the city. Actor Zach Galifianakis’ clean-head-fuzzy-face look from his latest guy comedy The Hangover: Part II, has become a fashion fix for many young men in the city.

“I’m a big fan of Alan and his style really stands out, so I couldn’t help but get the look,” says 30-year-old sales manager Rahul Kadbet. “Shaving the head like Alan is cool — both in style and weather-wise,” says Nishant Saxena, 19, another Alan clone.

Hairstylist Jawed Habib says, “Zach is a popular guy and I get 3-4 requests for the ‘Alan’ look every week.” He adds, “All you need to get that style is a beard clipper and wax for the hair.” Stylist Rajat Tangri adds, “The character has become iconic, so the style is a rage now.”

How about a Hangovertini?
At the Lebua Hotel in Bangkok, where the movie was filmed, fans can avail of a special package inspired by the movie, and even enjoy signature eats and drinks such as the Hangovertini. Package price: Rs 1,00,000

Plot of part III leaked
Zach has revealed in a Rolling Stone cover story that the franchise’s finale will focus on how his buddies — Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) — break him out of asylum.

Wolfpack-style wedding
Bachelors in the city are planning Hangover-theme weddings, too. Punit Aggarwal, 26, recently recced Bangkok for a wolfpack-style marriage and bachelor party: “I think it’s a great new way to make my wedding and bachelor party rock”.

It’s not demon, it’s semen!
That slogan, along with others such as ‘when a monkey nibbles on a weenis… it’s funny in any language’ and ‘we had a sick night, b****s!’ are becoming popular on tees up for grabs around the Capital. Alan’s yellow labrador T-shirt (above) is also flying off flea market shelves
