We’ve turned fashion police to expose how badly delhi dresses. do you recognise your style in these pictures?

You strut about town in your tracksuit and heels, your muffin top keeps popping out from your low rise jeans, your sheer shirt puts your moobs on full display, and you thought you could get away with it all your life!

Attention, fashion sinners. Whether you have been fashion blundering unintentionally, or are a serial style defaulter, it’s time for serious change. Though people call Delhi the Fashion Capital of India, you can spot some of the biggest fashion sinners walking chin-up on city streets, shopping in a mall, or attending a wedding and feeling great about how fashionable they are. Unfortunately, though, they are only bringing down Delhi’s style score, apart from horrifying onlookers.

So, in the next 10 days, HT City is going to save you from fashion hell. We will tell you everything you need to know to avoid being a fashion sore or fall victim to the stereotypes so often seen about town.

Making of Style In The City
Shaken and stirred by the city’s ailing style sense, we sat down with 60 leading fashion gurus, stylists, fashion bloggers and fashion-forward celebrities to study the most dreaded fashion faux pas that Delhiites commit. On the basis of their opinion, we conjured 11 different characters to represent the most common fashion offenders.

To give them a face, we ‘unfashioned’ a usually stylish HT City team and turned them into the fashion duds that you see on top of this page. Of course, the team went with the idea kicking and screaming initially, but soon everyone gave in sportingly and joined the fun.

What’s in it for you?
Everyday for the next 11 days, you will see an HT City staffer dressed up as a fashion offender on this page, giving you insight into how never to dress up. There will be loads of expert fashion advice and quick fixes to save you from being fashion sobs, and we’ll also applaud those of you who know their fashion basics well. Let’s get on with our mission to turn Delhi into a city of the well-dressed.

Here’s to a stylish Delhi!

Chammak Challo
She believes excess is pretty. Right from her hair and outfit to makeup, everything about her is blingy and over-the-top.

Champu chaman
This guy can go bungee jumping in his stiff formal shirt and high-waist trousers, teamed with sneakers and a sports watch. And yes, in a tie too.

Sporty billo
She thinks it’s super chic to wear a track suit with high heels, chunky jewellery and loud makeup. She even goes shopping dressed like that.

Dilli ka superman
This cool-dude puts boxers and undies on display, his jeans could fall any moment, and his neon-bright vests put the rainbow to shame.

Jawani diwani
She’s forty, but thinks she isn’t a day older than sixteen. And she is ready to go to any extremes to dress up that way too.

Dhinchak dude
A flashy shirt, gold chains, belt with studs, rings on each finger ... we’re sure you have met this guy at a city wedding.

Nanhi munni baby
Cute little clips, Barbie doll frocks, ribbons, cartoon print bags ... this woman’s style sense just refuses to grow up.

Gabru jawan
This muscle man wears extra tight tees with short sleeves showing off his tattoos, paired with artificially

Faded jeans
btm(behenji turned mod)
Fusion means utter confusion for the BTM, who pairs Mickey Mouse tees with ethnic bangles, pop-coloured socks and ethnic sandals.

Hobo champion
His shirt’s stained and torn, shoes are muddy and hair is shabby... not your fault if you thought he ran away from rehab.

Brand factory
She is a walking talking advert of all the top fashion brands. It’s a pity that her picks turn out to be
mostly fakes.
