Keep them clean: Clean your eyes thoroughly and gently each night as makeup attracts bacteria and causes breakage of existing lashes. When cleaning makeup from eyes, first splash the face with warm water and pat the eye area gently with a cotton ball.
Remove all makeup: Do not apply soap to the lashes. To remove traces of mascara after washing thoroughly with water, follow with a commercial eye makeup remover and stroke the lashes with a fresh cotton ball.
Condition your lashes: Apply olive oil to your eyelashes a couple of times a week. Dip cotton in the oil and gently brush it onto your lashes. Almond oil or coconut oil can be used to get the same result. Apply the oil and let it sit with your eyes closed for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Discard old eye makeup: Eye makeup could be one of the prime reasons behind breakage of lashes. Replace your mascara and other eye makeup at least every three to six months.
Don't rub: Never rub your eyes as it is like pulling your hair. It can cause breakage and premature fallout.
