As the brides took their last bow on runway, the six-day showcase ended with sheer opulence

On day 6, the last day of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013, the city saw the brides bid a fashionable farewell to the ramp. When Bollywood’s young beauty, Alia Bhatt strutted down the ramp in her runway debut, as the showstopper for Azva, she was showered with a large applause and even some hoots!

In a befitting end to the event, veteran couturier Tarun Tahiliani put up an opulent show. With model-actor Lisa Haydon as his showstopper, Tahiliani brought in different shades of his mastery — from ivory ensembles fit for a princess to saffron hued lehengas.

Day 6
The last day of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 in association with Azva, saw unhindered glamour, fit for a glitzy farewell that the stylish gala deserved. Master couturier Tarun Tahiliani ended the six-day extravaganza, amid a display of some beautiful ensembles and a contemporary dance performance. The dancers on the runway, who were members of the Attakkalari group, moved like they had no bones in their body — mesmerising the audiences with their aerobic-style performance. Adding to the drama were kids in the designer’s creation who accompanied the models, his mix of drapes in champagne, blush tones, and gypsy-infused pieces, reminiscent of his aghori sadhu inspired Kumbhack collection.

Tarun Tahiliani
1. Blouses with sweetheart necklines and saris with gauzy dupattas were the mainstay of this collection
2. Soft hues of green, yellow, pink and bold ones such as red, turquoise dominated the ramp
3. Heavily embellished and embroidered sherwanis and lehengas in Tahiliani’s trademark style were also showcased
4. The zardozi work, and drapes were beautiful, but we wish there was more of the gypsy style, saffron hued ensembles
