With Delhi Couture Week round the corner, country’s top models reveal what it takes to maintain a good body and skin.

The world has been watching their super-stylish ramp walks for several years now. And even today, when models Nayonika Chatterjee, Sonalika Sahay, Lakshmi Rana and Lakshmi Rana are happily married, their oomph factor continues to fetch them top class projects. Here’s a peek into how the ladies take out time for their health and beauty regimes.

Sonalika Sahay
I’m very particular about my workouts and always manage to take out at least an hour every day to hit the gym. I have also formed the habit of taking care of my skin. I cleanse and moisturise it before going to bed and also make sure my diet is healthy, regardless of crazy schedules. Although I don’t believe in following any particular diet, I do ensure a daily intake of salads, fruits, soups and yogurt. I love home-cooked food. Hot daal rice and curd are my favourite.

Exercise routine
I work out at least two hours every day, opting mostly for light cardio and weight-training exercises. On a busy day, I go for walks and stick to yoga.

Beauty secrets
I drink a lot of water and apply mascara and under-eye concealer and carry a good lip balm with me at all times.

Beauty and health tip
Drink a lot of water and eat healthy.

Nayonika Chatterjee
There are times when some great projects come my way, but I can’t take them up because I have a daughter waiting for me at home. I have to admit, I have been neglecting my skin and fitness a lot lately. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I got a facial, spa session or massage done.

Exercise routine
People don’t believe it, but I don’t exercise much. I just start to eat healthy and exercise a few days before big fashion events.

Beauty secret
Good genes! I think I am blessed with good skin and a fit body.

Beauty and health tip
Don’t try to overdo your workout in order to achieve a supermodel-like physique.

Krishna Somani
I make sure I devote each morning to fitness. I exercise every day and don’t prohibit myself from having any particular food item. The mantra is to keep the amount you eat under check.

Exercise routine
I gym for two hours and focus primarily on weight-training, cardio and boot camp exercises.

Beauty secret
I cleanse and moisturise my face before retiring for bed.

Health and beauty tips
If you take out time for even a little exercise regularly, you will not face health problems.

Lakshmi Rana
No matter how busy I am, my beauty and health regime is something I never compromise with. I wake up to a glass of juice in the morning and also have two glasses of milk every day. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, oil my hair regularly and make it a point to moisturise my body. A healthy diet is what brings out good skin. I eat protein-rich foods like egg whites and fruits in the morning, carbohydrates in the afternoon and refrain from eating any carbohydrates after five in the evening.

Exercise routine
I work out four to six times a week. I run for six kilometres, do cycling and a lot of free-hand exercises like dips and push-ups.

Beauty secret
I apply mostly natural stuff like almond or cucumber masks. I never leave the house without applying a good sun block, mascara and a lip tint.

Health and beauty tips
Don’t give up on your fitness routine after following it for a month. You can give it a break or a day or two, but not more than that. Eat a protein-rich diet, have an early dinner and avoid eating carbohydrates at night.
