Have a curvy figure? Flaunt it, but make sure you do it right. Here's how:
V necks are more flattering: People with curvy figure look great in v-necks, as well as wrap tops and shirts with waistlines because it accentuates the waist. Don't wear embellished necklines or embroidered tops as they will make you look more endowed.
Taper it at the waist: A wide belt cinched at the waist will also do the trick as it will highlight your curves in the right places. If you are bottom-heavy it works well as you are accentuating the bottom while creating an illusion of a slim waistline.
Flared is flattering: Even when skinny jeans and pants are in vogue, stick to flared or wide leg jeans because they balance out wide hips. Skinny jeans will highlight your curvy figure so skip it altogether. If you want, you can add a belt to wide leg trousers but make sure that the belt is slim. Broad belts further go on to make you look bulky.
Keep it fitted: Stay away from baggy clothes as these would make you look oversized and sloppy. Instead go for sharp cuts that highlight your strengths and camouflage the bulky areas you want to hide.
Party wear dressing: For cocktails go for short dresses in off-shoulder patterns or frock-style dresses for a glamorous. But never go for too much frills or billowing silhouettes. If you are wearing a flowy gown or a dress make sure that it is structured on the top so that the effect is not too bulky.
