For Chandni Nasir, Morvi Kumar, Mansi Sharma and Sonica D’ Souza, modelling was a dream, one they never thought they could realise. But after being chosen as the fresh faces for the months of July-October’09, by the social networking site
, their opinion about social networking and modelling opportunities underwent a sea change.
In a quick chat with
the feisty four discuss their luck and plans.
Mansi Sharma, 24
: iFresh Face July — A doctor by profession, Mansi is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies.
How she made it
: A friend of mine, who was a member on ibibo asked me to upload my picture.
: I did not pursue modelling as a career, though I have always been inclined towards it. Now, it all depends on the opportunities I get.
Chandni Nasir, 19
: iFresh Face August — A first year student of BSc at the University of Delhi, she still wonders how she made it.
How she made it:
“I was asked by a senior to vote for her profile on ibibo.com. In the process, I ended up creating my profile. And voila! After about 20 days I got a call saying that I was the winner for August.”
She belongs to a conservative muslim family and says that she will only do ‘decent’ work and become a supermodel after 10 years.
Morvi Kumar, 25
: iFresh Face September — This NIFT graduate has also worked in a Canadian movie.
How she made it:
She was looking for design competitions online when she found this one and participated.
I do not have perfect plans for life. If modelling gives me better opportunities, I will go for that.
Sonica d’ Souza, 23:
iFresh Face October — Working with her fashion designer mum, Sonica did not know anticipate a career in modeling until it really happened.
How she made:
it I had visited the site to vote for a friend and ended up creating a profile for myself too.
I am ready to take up modelling as a full time career if I get the right opportunities.
