Our style awards pay a tribute not only to style choices of achievers from myriad fields, but also their unmatched charisma and élan.

Legendary Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace once said, “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” We couldn’t agree more. Hindustan Times Most Stylish, is all about innate style that is not a slave of fashion. We are back with the sixth edition of our style awards that pay a tribute not only to style choices of achievers from myriad fields, but also their unmatched charisma and élan.

Apart from the gala ceremony, an intrinsic part of the annual style awards includes an exclusive shoot with each winner. Each photo shoot has a story to tell and there are always lots of memories to be made. From creating an instant, makeshift dhaba for industrialist Malvinder Singh’s shoot, to catching Olympian and politician Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in a pensive mood sipping coffee, — our camera has captured many such special moments. Here’s a glimpse at some of our favourite clicks from over the years.

Malvinder Singh

Be it his elegant turbans or classic ties teamed with bright pocket squares, this Singh is truly the king of style.“Style is a natural extension of your personality,” he says. The plan was to shoot this industrialist at a dhaba in Manesar, but he had to rush for an urgent meeting. So, we thought of setting up a make-shift dhaba close to his house! We mounted this gold charpoi on our car and carried it all the way to his residence for the shoot.

Ambika Anand

The television anchor’s style is equal parts glam and classy. Anand was a complete sport when we asked her to climb up a tree and pose. Perched on a branch effortlessly (and super stylishly!), she stood out in the lap of nature at the Hauz Khas lake.

HGS Dhaliwal

Even though most of us have seen him in uniform, the additional commissioner of Delhi Police impresses with his impeccable off-duty looks — casual-chic tees and khaki trousers. The avid golfer showed off his perfect golf swings at the Delhi Golf Club, as our camera clicked away happily.

Indrani Dasgupta

For model Indrani Dasgupta, facing the camera is a daily affair. And, the curly-haired beauty was as much a picture of perfection in front of our cameras as she is on the runway. In the bylanes of Hauz Khas Village, she lit up our pictures with effortless élan.

Rajiv Makhni

The tech guru loves his colour block as much as his three-piece tux. A pro at facing the camera, he made the shoot so much fun with his innovations. When asked about his experience of the shoot, he told us: “Fun, Fun, Fun! I went in thinking it’ll be a boring shoot with difficult to hold poses, and impossible to give expressions. It turned out to be this wacky shoot. I ended up selling kulfi from a cart and doing things to park benches that had the local Hauz Khas Village women ready to throw me out.”

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore

The dashing shooter-turned- politician exudes effortless, disarming charm with his understated yet impressive style. As we shot him at his residence on a relaxed Sunday, Rathore revived his love for biking by riding around on his old Bullet. And as he took a coffee break, our photographer took this candid shot which remains our most favourite picture of his till date.

Vesna Jacob

When it comes to dressing up, the fitness expert believes in experimenting. From donning kaftan dresses to designer ethnicwear picks — she goes from casual to couture easily. Vesna was cool as a cucumber even as she posed under the blazing sun wearing this corseted dress at the Hauz Khas fort. The lady accomplished some lovely shots quite effortlessly.

Shereen Bhan

Easy-going and classic fashion is what the business journalist and news anchor goes for. From classic LBDs to sharp power suits — her style is all about unflinching confidence. Despite a crazy schedule, the lady delighted our camera with her prettiest smiles. Within minutes, we had some awesome shots in place.
