Ms Silky, a beauty expert from Etre Belle, a German company that’s synonymous with skincare products, gave free skin consultation at Rudra Spa and Salon, Kemps Corner. The salon will be the first to use these products. Nita Dhruva, director of the salon, says, “We’re delighted to be the first. The range of products involve nano-technology products which is the first of its kind in the world.”
Ms Silky is still getting to know Indian skin types but she pointed out that most Indian women suffer from skin pigmentation and dark under-eye circles. She says, “This is a genetic problem that can only be made less visible and kept under control. Etre Belle has created eyecare products that can be used only by a professional.”
She says, “An oily skin needs cleansing gel, not cleansing milk. Exposure to sun makes Indian skin porous and one needs creams that can be absorbed immediately. She stresses on the use of sunscreen creams while going out in the sun.”
She feels sunscreens are essential as one grows older. A sunscreen with SPF 15 is fine but has to be retouched at intervals.
A facial starts with the use of a cleanser followed by a toner, massage and a mask. She believes that the mask should come before the massage. “One needs a rich cream base for massage. How can moisture penetrate the skin otherwise?”
While the use of beauty products is a must with environmental pollution taking a toll on our skin, she feels that ultimately beauty should come from within, not with the use of expensive products. She smiles, “That will happen if you develop a positive attitude. A healthy lifestyle, good food habits and exercise will bring a glow to your face and a sparkle in your eyes.”
