Vintage collection for new age brides!
Wedding season is fast approaching. Asha Gupta, a fashion designer, gives you another reason to look forward to the upcoming festive bonanza. She has crafted ensembles for today's bride, writes Deepti Kaul.
Asha Gupta's label Vinayak is quite well known in Delhi and NCR. The designer showcased her collection at hotel Intercontinental Eros in New Delhi recently. She showcased a vintage collection in contemporary colours, keeping in mind brides of today.
The collection is divided into four ranges - Benarsi, Rajwada, Concept sarees and Bridal lehengas.
Embroidery in gold wires and Meena give a very rich look to the Benarsi range. The designer has showcased sarees in off whites and pure whites teamed with gold (the sarees can be dyed too, without loosing the actual colour of gold and meena).
Rajwada sarees enthuse regality. Sarees in fluid fabric adorn borders in velvet, which are further embellished with gota and kundan work. The special aspect of this range is that a tagdi of crystals is designed for sarees, which can be worn as an accessory.
Keeping in mind today's bride, who usually doesn't know the intricacies of wearing a saree, Asha has designed some contemporary pieces too, like fix pleats saree, lehenga saree and wrap around saree.
Few bridal lehengas done in bright peacock blue and multi-hues look fabulous. The USP of this collection is that focus is on detailing and embellishments are subtle yet rich that give a very opulent look to the whole collection.
Fashion designer Asha is assisted by Gautam Gupta, Shivani Gupta and Bhawna Gupta.
