A crisp white shirt is a style classic and a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. Global runway, too, has seen leading designers such as Prabal Gurung, Georgio Armani and Jil Sander showcase white shirts as part of their Spring Summer 2012 collection. But instead of keeping it simple, fashionistas have given the classic version a funky twist. “The classic white shirt has come a long way.
Make it more fun by wearing a bright thin waist belt or sheer shirt with ruffle. Detailing or button down shirts with embroidery on collar and sleeve are also popular,” says designer Khushali Kumar. You can also pair the shirts with hot pants, coloured jeans, floral pants or ice cream hued skirts.” Roma Arora
Wear the white shirt right
A classic white shirt can be worn as a formal attire with formal pants in black colour. You could also team the shirt up with waisted skirts in beige, cream or grey.
In summer, it’s great to pair them up with hot pants. Don’t only go for the denim look. Try out hot pants in floral, neon and graphic prints as well.
For a fun and casual look, combine the shirt with pencil pants, plazzo pants, high-waisted skirts in yellows, reds, oranges, blues and greens. Worn with a statement neckpiece, the look will be fantastic.
Do colour blocking with solid wide belts in contrast shade or solid coloured pumps or stilletoes. It’s a great look for night parties.
Accessorise white shirt with bold neon shoes, beaded neckpieces, quirky belts, bright scarves and stylish brooches.
