Actresses Juhi Chawla and Zeenat Aman dazzled the ramp wearing exquisite and rare jewellery at the ongoing India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) here over the weekend.
Dressed in a very bridal maroon Lehenga, a traditional Indian blend of saree and blouse, Chawla wore stunning Polki necklaces.
A mother of two, Chawla seemed thrilled to sashay down the ramp dolled like a princess in the ethnic wear and intricately designed jewellery.
"Oh, both of them, I think they are beautifully done, I love the sing of Polki with gold, Indian motifs but then with a little twist. You could wear this, not both like this, but you could even wear it on very plain- say sometimes you get dressed western, but very plain and then you just have one very stunning piece of jewellery and it could be an Indian piece. But it looks like wow, you've arrived," said Chawla.
Aman walked the ramp in richly carved gold and uncut diamond piece over a black and red ensemble.
"I love jewellery period. But it just depends, each piece is so different and so exquisite and you wear different things for different occasions. I love to look, I miss having daughters because I would love to drape them in jewellery," she said.
Other actresses such as Lara Dutta, Chitrangada Singh, Ankita Shorey, Shriya Saran and Yami Gautam had earlier walked the ramp for ace jewllery designers.
The IIJW made its debut in New Delhi this year on Friday. Bollywood actress and style diva Sonam Kapoor who is also the ambassador for the organizers Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
This year the IIJW has provided a platform for 17 designers and scores of jewellery brands.
