There’s no stopping Cristiano Ronaldo. After the Real Madrid star scored a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in the first-leg of the semifinal of the Uefa Champions League to take his goal tally to 103, he also became the first sportsperson to reach 100 million followers.
The Portuguese forward celebrated the moments with a live video on the social networking site with a a special message. “I have a few messages… the haters still hate me because… Without you, I am not what I am today, keep going! But the most important is my fans. They are always on my side. This is why I am always strong mind,” Ronaldo stated before answering a few questions for his fans from Madeira.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s 103 goals in the competition’s 25-year history means he has now outscored 22 clubs in terms of goals scored.
Nearly 3,26,000 of his followers were watching him when Ronaldo went live for 140 seconds from his house in Madrid. Barcelona star Neymar has the second-most followers in terms of footballers with 74 million while his rival Lionel Messi is further behind at 71 million.
Cristiano Ronaldo often shares posts of him with his son, pictures from his recent matches and modelling shoots on his profile. At the end of the video, Ronaldo is seen to hand over the cellphone to someone who keeps filming him while he takes a dive into the pool to cap off the celebrations.
