An aeroplane carrying Turkish soccer club Fenerbahce to Manchester, England, made an emergency landing in Hungary after pilots noticed cracks in the windshield after it was hit by a bird, Budapest Airport and the club said on Wednesday.
The BoraJet aeroplane carrying players and team officials, including club president Aziz Yildirim, took off from Istanbul at 08:00 GMT (13:30 IST). It landed at Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt Airport, the nearest airport, after the security system indicated a flaw in the hermetic seal.
The team, traveling to a Europa League match against Manchester United on Thursday, was waiting at the Budapest terminal for another aeroplane being sent from Istanbul.
