Not many people like Bluetooth headsets. More often than not, they are quite a pain in the ear. Personally, I prefer to stick the phone to my ear, or use the Sennheiser earplugs to listen to music. But then again, this isn’t always practical.
Nokia had recently launched the Luna brand of Bluetooth headsets (technically, earphones) to accompany their brand new Lumia smartphones. I must admit, the headphones are surely a work of art. With unbelievable dimensions of 25.31 x 24.00 x 26.36 mm and weighing at just 5 grams, it is one of the smallest and the cutest set of gadget I have ever laid my eyes on.
It has a microUSB charging interface on the holder and features a 2-hour talk time, in addition to the 6 talk-hours’ worth of charge that can be stored in the holder itself. The Luna supports 2.1 + EDR, Handsfree profile 1.5 and Headset Profile 1.1 advanced multipoint, which means you can attach multiple handsets to it, should you so choose.
It can be easily paired with a Nokia smartphone that has NFC by just tapping the two devices together to share content. It also features voice prompts to alert the user of battery life and walk them through pairing with a non-NFC phone.
Nokia Luna is a nifty device that fits into either of the ears quite comfortably. The sound quality on the headset is very good too. However, in noisy conditions, the headset seemed to be a bit inefficient on noise cancellation, thus making it difficult for the person on the other side of the call to hear my voice.
The Nokia Luna priced at Rs.4530 is available in five vibrant colours - black, white, fuchsia, green and blue.
